David March, Founder & Chair
David March is a founder and current chair of the Minnesota Corporate Pro Bono Council. In addition to his role on the Council, March is Deputy General Counsel, Americas Advisory at CBRE. Prior to joining CBRE, March was a senior attorney at Target Corporation, where he managed a broad range of initiatives, teams and complex transactional matters. While at Target, March founded Target’s nationally-recognized pro bono program. Prior to joining Target, he was an attorney at the Robins Kaplan law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota and also served as a judicial law clerk at the Minnesota Supreme Court for Justice Paul H. Anderson and Justice James Gilbert. March has served on the boards of several civil legal aid organizations, and his pro bono work focuses on immigration, housing, and poverty issues. March is the recipient of a Minnesota Lawyer Attorneys of the Year Award and the MSBA’s President’s Award. He received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and his J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law (now part of Mitchell Hamline School of Law) in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Jessica English, Attorney
Jessica English is Senior Counsel at Thrivent, a Fortune 500 diversified financial services organization where her practice is primarily focused on insurance product distribution and corporate governance. She is Chair of the Thrivent Pro Bono Committee and is an active volunteer in the community, including the pro bono work she performs for the Minnesota Corporate Pro Bono Council. Jessica obtained her J.D. from Hamline University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Debra L. Hovland, Treasurer
Debra Hovland is an experienced Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary, skilled in corporate governance, securities law, executive compensation, global subsidiary management, commercial law and mergers and acquisitions. Pro bono coordinator at H.B. Fuller and treasurer of the Minnesota Corporate Pro Bono Council. My pro bono interests include representing clients in obtaining housing eviction expungements and providing advice and assistance in housing court clinic. Therapy dog partner with Gus, the Golden Retriever.

Janet Lambert, Secretary
Janet Lambert is the current Secretary of the Minnesota Pro Bono Council. In addition to her role on the Council, Janet is a Senior Corporate Counsel at Best Buy, where she is responsible for managing the company’s consumer litigation team and a variety of other projects and matters for the company. Prior to joining Best Buy, Janet was an attorney with the Minnesota-based law firm Fetterly & Gordon. Janet is a volunteer attorney at Minnesota Housing Court and Conciliation Court, helping people who are unable to afford an attorney. Janet receved her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville in Platteville, Wisconsin and her J.D. from William Mitchell School of Law (now part of Mitchell Hamline School of Law) in St. Paul, Minnesota.
